Trust crisis in India's UPI payments: fear of stranger transfers hurts business

1. Describe the problem:

I am a banker from India and run a YouTube channel about banking products. I observe how, due to the explosive growth of cybercrime in UPI payments (linked to the popularity of UPI transactions), people are losing trust in digital payments and have stopped accepting transfers from strangers. This hits small businesses (MSMEs) and everyday transactions. The existing system doesn't provide sufficient transparency and security. A solution is needed, possibly based on Aadhar, blockchain, or CBDC, that would restore trust by making payments transparent and secure.

2. How often does the problem occur?

The problem worsens every day, undermining the trust we've built with clients over the years (in business loans, car loans, mortgages). Every fraud incident I report on my blog increases the general paranoia.

3. What attempts have you made to solve the problem?

As a banker and consultant, I can only inform clients about risks, but I cannot create a technological solution. I've thought a lot about this and realized that existing banking apps don't address the root of the problem — the lack of trust in transactions between unfamiliar parties. I have a vision for a solution based on my deep industry experience, which could become a "digital mini-bank," but I lack the technical knowledge to build an app on blockchain or with CBDC. That's why I'm currently looking for a technical partner.

4. How much are you willing to pay for the solution?

Comment from the ProblemHunt moderator: "The problem author specified only the amount of $100 in this question and nothing more. Clarification is needed whether this is a one-time payment, monthly, or something else. We recommend contacting him directly to clarify the details."
