First physical product problem on ProblemHunt: In Norway, you can't enter a building wearing shoes with spikes or roll in a bicycle with winter tires — no convenient protective pads exist

1. Describe the problem:

I live in Norway. In winter, we wear shoes with anti-slip spikes and ride bikes with studded tires. But you can't enter a store, café, or office with them — security won't allow it to avoid damaging the floor. The same goes for bicycles — you can't bring them inside to a parking area. You either have to take off your shoes or leave your bike out in the cold. There is no convenient solution to quickly and cleanly "isolate" the spikes.

2. How often does the problem occur?

Every day throughout the entire winter, several times a day. It's a constant daily discomfort.

3. What attempts have you made to solve the problem?

I've tried looking for special covers or pads — they're either not available for sale or impractical (they tear, don't stay on, are inconvenient to carry). You either have to risk it and ignore the rules or simply put up with the inconvenience.

4. How much are you willing to pay for the solution?

We're willing to pay around $25 for a compact and reliable solution — for example, a set of durable rubber caps for shoe spikes and/or bicycle tires that can be put on and taken off quickly.
