Problem of finding a workout partner in a new gym

1. Describe the problem:

Every time someone moves to a new city or joins a new gym, they struggle to find a workout partner who matches their timing, goals, and consistency level. Most people end up training solo, losing motivation within weeks.

Existing fitness apps track workouts but don’t solve the real human problem, i personally faced this issue, since i had to switch cities back when i used to work for an Event company. Social platforms are noisy, and gym communities rarely help members connect in meaningful ways.

Also, i get to see multiple posts on social media mostly on Reddit, users trying to find gym partners.

There’s no simple way to find gym partners nearby based on shared goals, schedules, and location without awkwardly asking strangers at the gym or posting in random groups.

This gap leaves thousands of fitness enthusiasts training alone, missing the motivation, consistency, and community that come from shared effort.

2. How often does the problem occur?

Almost every time I move to a new city or join a new gym, the same issue pops up. It’s not a daily problem, but it hits whenever life changes new job, new city, new routine. With so many people working remotely and moving often, finding a consistent gym partner has become hard, no matter how good the gym is.

For the past 2–3 years. Every gym I’ve joined has the same story: great equipment, but no real community or system to connect members who want to train together.

3. What attempts have you made to solve the problem?

I’ve tried from posting in local gym groups and Reddit threads to asking around at fitness centers. Most responses fade after a few days, and the people I find rarely match my timing or consistency.

There are fitness apps out there, but they focus on tracking workouts or coaching not actually connecting people. None offer a simple way to find a nearby gym partner who shares your schedule and goals.

Right now, I’m managing it manually, DM’ing people, sharing forms, and trying to match interested users myself. It works a little, but it’s not scalable or reliable i don't know.

But it's a real problem which i face, also tried to validate it within my network they feel the same.

4. How much are you willing to pay for the solution?

Realistically, I’d pay around ₹150–₹250 per month (roughly $2–$3). I’m from India, and since ₹800–₹1,000 (about $10–$12) already covers a month’s gym fee in many cities, anything higher wouldn’t make sense. Keeping it in this range makes people more likely to try it and stay consistent.

Goal is to make this service for free, but to run all the activities need to monazite the site, by adding other things which helps gym goes like custom diet plan and more.
