The systemic crisis of athlete transition

1. Describe the problem:

Athletes are trained to perform — not to transition. 70% of pros go broke within five years of retirement, and 98% of college athletes never turn professional. Slept On Athletes (SOA) is building a global ecosystem that merges sports, education, and financial literacy — empowering athletes, parents, and organizations to create lasting success beyond the game.

2. How often does the problem occur?

This problem isn’t seasonal — it’s systemic. It affects athletes globally, from high school programs to Olympic and pro levels. Every time a player graduates, gets injured, or retires, the cycle restarts — proving that athlete education and transition support aren’t just optional… they’re overdue.

3. What attempts have you made to solve the problem?

To reform how athletes are developed — making financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and community leadership part of every athlete’s journey. SOA = “From the field to the future.”

4. How much are you willing to pay for the solution?

I’m willing to invest personally and financially in solving this problem because I’ve lived it — and I know millions of athletes, parents, and programs would pay to finally bridge sports, education, and financial literacy the right way.
