Problem of access to loans for immigrants in the EU

1. Describe the problem:

I emigrated from Russia to Portugal and faced a systemic problem: EU banks practically don't grant loans or credit cards to non-citizens and non-permanent residents. Even with a temporary residence permit, access to basic financial services is limited. This deprives us immigrants of the ability to take out loans for basic needs that are available to EU citizens.

2. How often does the problem occur?

I've been facing this problem constantly for several years. Every financial need comes up against the lack of access to credit products.

3. What attempts have you made to solve the problem?

I tried using Russian credit cards, but they don't work in Portugal due to sanctions. Local banks refuse loans without permanent residence status or EU citizenship.

4. How much are you willing to pay for the solution?

I'm willing to pay a fair interest rate on loans/credit cards as a non-resident and accept a higher interest rate within reasonable limits. I'll consider various payment models for access to financial services.
